Welcome to Preston Shores

A friendly and family-orientated neighborhood at Lake Texoma

The neighborhood was originally formed as a subdivision in the 1960's in the early days of Lake Texoma.  The lots were small as it was anticipated to be a community of second homes and fishing cabins.  During the last 15 years especially, Preston Shores has experienced a rejuvenation, with many new and remodeled homes, and new residents.  Over the years, lots have been combined to allow for larger full- time homes, though a number of homes are "lake houses" and Airbnb homes, only occupied part time.

The neighborhood is pleased to welcome new residents and to thank and value the many long-time residents who have helped keep our community moving in the right direction.  The love of Lake Texoma bonds us, whether we are young, old, retired, working, part-time, into fishing, boating, or just enjoying living where we can enjoy the great outdoors!  We hope the information following will be on interest to you.

Preston Shores at Lake Texoma - Our Organization was formed to bring Community together.   We firmly believe that community starts with neighbor knowing neighbor and neighbor helping neighbor.   And as the directors and leaders of this Organization, we will work to help Preston Shores become the best community that it can be.  While you do not have to become a dues paying member, we ask you to strongly consider becoming one.  The money raised will all go towards bettering our community and to help improve the neighborhood.  It is not a mandatory homeowners association in any way.  One can choose to participate and to help this organization succeed.  The fact is that if Preston Shores at Lake Texoma succeeds, we all succeed.

Boat Ramp Association - our boat ramp is our most important asset, and it is imperative we maintain it to Core of Engineer standards, or the Core will close it!  We must have money to maintain the boat ramp, which is raised by two methods.  (1) Our boat ramp is open to the public, as required by the Corps, and we currently charge $10 per launch.  (2) Residents are invited to join the association by paying $100 per household.  Membership allows for unlimited launches for the membership year and a sticker for your windshield.  For an additional charge of $50 per year, you can have a gate key so you can enter before sunrise or after sunset.  Even if you don't have a boat, joining is a great way to support your neighborhood and get to know people.  The Boat Ramp supports the neighborhood in other ways also if funds are available.  The Boat Ramp Association meets the Sunday of or before Memorial Day weekend to elect officers and Directors.

Committees - While there are Directors of this Organization, there will be many ways that you can participate in leading the charge.  Committees will be created, such as a security committee, a charity committee, a clean up committee and a fun committee.  These committees will have a Director assigned to assist those who raise their hand to lead so communication is all directions can be assured.  If you want to raise your hand, please do by reaching out to a director.  Thanks in advance.
